Removes all leading and trailing occurrences of a set of characters specified in a SearchValuesPolyfill<Char> instance from a character span.

Parameters

span  SpanChar
The source span from which the characters are removed.
values  SearchValuesPolyfillChar
The SearchValuesPolyfill<Char> instance, which specifies the set of characters to remove.

Return Value

SpanChar
The trimmed character span.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type SpanChar. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

Remarks

If values is empty, the method returns span unchanged.

Exceptions

ArgumentNullExceptionvalues is null.
